 Elizabeth Ford Galbreath and Ambrose Alloysius Carr III met at a party in New York City through a mutual friend. The two outdoor enthusiasts soon realized they liked many of the same activities, including golf, skiing, fly-fishing, hiking and biking. Ambrose proposed to Elizabeth on the sixth hole of the Quogue Field Club golf course on the fourth of July. That evening, the Carr and Galbreath families were invited into New York to celebrate on Ambrose’s terrace while enjoying a wonderful view of fireworks.
The couple was married at the Church of Saint Vincent Ferrer in New York City by the Reverend Michael R. Moynihan, former pastor of Church of St. Michael the Archangel, and the Reverend Carleton P. Jones, pastor of the Church of Saint Vincent Ferrer. In keeping with the theme of fireworks, the guests all lit sparklers to send the newlyweds on their way to the reception at the University Club.
The bride, daughter of Janie and Michael Galbreath of Greenwich, graduated from Greenwich Country Day School, Loomis Chaffee School, Lafayette College and the Sotheby’s Institute of Art in New York. She is an associate with Lane McVicker Insurance.
The groom, son of Ambrose Carr Jr. of Quogue, New York, and the late Nancy C. Carr, graduated from Buckley Country Day School, the Brooks School and Hobart College. He is a partner with Blinken, Carr and Levy Financial Planning and Benefits Consulting.
Their wedding trip took them to Petit Saint Vincent in the Grenadines. The couple resides in New York.
 When Samantha Tirzah Dunnion was five years old, she met ten-year-old Jonah Bradley Arcade. The two were reintroduced five years ago by a mutual friend of the bride’s and groom’s mothers. Jonah knew a good fit when he saw one — after all, his parents were owners of the Favorite Shoe Store for years — and he popped the question. The couple exchanged vows at Stage 6 at Steiner Studios in the Brooklyn Navy Yard in New York. A reception immediately followed.
The bride, daughter of Dorothy and Michael Dunnion of Phoenix, Arizona, graduated from the University of Colorado. She is a senior writer at Kirshenbaum Bond and Partners in New York.
The groom, son of Ricky and Joseph Arcade of Greenwich, graduated from Greenwich High School and the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. He is an associate director at Bear Stearns in New York.
Following a honeymoon to Paris, Botswana and Zambia, the newlyweds came home to the West Village in New York.
 Late for a rescheduled, relocated meeting at a business conference in Florida, Marian Baker was not inclined to be charmed by the young man telling her she was in the wrong place at the wrong time. But, impressed by his manner, she found a moment to seek him out and thank him. Four years later, Marian and Jason Peter McNaughton, son of Mrs. Donald Bennett McNaughton of Parsippany, New Jersey, were married at St. Christopher’s-by-the-Sea Episcopal Church in Key Biscayne, Florida. Dinner and dancing followed at the Key Biscayne Yacht Club, as a spectacular sunset over Biscayne Bay delighted guests.
Marian is the daughter of York and Fred Baker of Riverside. She attended the American School in Japan and graduated from Greenwich High School and Middlebury College. Currently, Marian is head buyer of handbags and accessories for Nine West. The bridegroom is in sports management and licensing with World Wrestling Entertainment and is a graduate of Hofstra University, where he played varsity baseball and football.
Following a wedding trip to South America, including an Amazon trek, the couple set up house in Manhattan.
 The Episcopal Church of St. Paul the Apostle, in beautiful and historic Savannah, Georgia, was the setting for the wedding of Lillian Elizabeth Rice and Matthew Snyder Raben. Presiding was the Very Reverend Ronald Sutherland of Vidalia, Georgia. A reception followed at the Savannah College of Art and Design.
The couple met as students at Stanford Law School. The bride, daughter of Carol and David Rice of Vidalia, Georgia, graduated from the University of the South in Sewanee, Georgia. She practices law at the New York firm of Cleary, Gottlieb, Steen and Hamilton.
The groom, son of Jeanie and John Raben of Riverside, and grandson of Geraldine Sour and the late Robert Sour, formerly of Old Greenwich, graduated from Dartmouth College. He works at the First Reserve Corporation in Greenwich.
The Greenwich newlyweds traveled through South Africa on their honeymoon.
 When Caroline Ann Benzak visited her brother at his summer-share house on the Cape, little did she know she would meet her prospective mate Edmund Michael Higginbotham over hamburgers that weekend. Mike, as he is known, proposed by the clock in the middle of Grand Central Station amid the hustle and bustle of commuters.
The Reverend Dan O’Reilly performed the wedding ceremony at St. Jean Baptiste Church in New York City. A reception followed at the Museum of Natural History.
The bride, daughter of Ginny Banzak of Rye, New York, and the late Louis R. Benzak, graduated from Greenwich Academy, Pennsylvania State University and the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising in Los Angeles. She is an interior designer with Randall A. Ridless in New York.
The groom, son of Betty and Ed Higginbotham of Cos Cob, graduated from Loomis Chaffee and St. Lawrence University. He works in sales and marketing for Morgan Stanley.
After a honeymoon in Kenya and the Seychelles, the newlyweds returned home to New York City.
