Classmates Michelle Anne Holmes and Senter Nicholas Johnson, who began dating at the Taft School when they were both sixteen years old, decided to ring in the New Year with nuptials at sunset on a beach in Long Boat Key, Florida. The Reverend Michael Spencer, the chaplain at Taft, performed the seaside ceremony, which was followed by a fireworks celebration. The reception continued throughout the night until the dawn of New Year’s Day.
Senter, a graduate of Cornell University and an intercollegiate national polo champion, is an analyst at the Stanford Group in Miami, Florida. He is the son of Nicola Grover Johnson of Riverside and Charles Senter Johnson Jr. of Gloucestershire, England.
Michelle graduated from Vanderbilt University and is studying law at Miami University. Her parents Mary and Thomas Holmes are residents of Long Boat Key and Chatham, Massachusetts.

Friends set up a mixed doubles tennis game where Kristin Elizabeth Soto met Wesley James MacLaggan, and it was game, set and true love. The couple was married by the Reverend Dan Dillabough, an Episcopalian minister and friend of the bridegroom’s family, in an evening ceremony at the Sundance Resort in Sundance, Utah. A reception followed.
The bride, daughter of Raymond and Judy Soto of Greenwich and Blufton, South Carolina, is a graduate of Greenwich Country Day School, the Holderness School and Bucknell University. She is associated with Barclays Global Investors in San Francisco.
The bridegroom, son of Robin Nordhoff of Del Mar, California, and Scott MacLaggan of Point Loma, California, is a graduate of Point Loma High School in San Diego, California, and Dartmouth College. He is the director of marketing for AreYouGame.com.
