Laura Barrow & Philip Geiger
When the Geiger family lived on the North Shore of Chicago, Marilyn Geiger used to push Philip Charles Geiger’s stroller past the home of Laura Jan Barrow. The Geigers moved to Greenwich when Philip was three, so he never crossed paths with Laura until both were freshmen at Colby College in Maine. During their junior year in college, both went abroad to study in different hemispheres — the bride to New Zealand and the groom to Ireland, so the romance didn’t blossom until their senior year.
Rabbinical student Ana Bonnheim, a childhood friend of the bride, and Rabbi Asher Knight officiated at the wedding ceremony at the InterContinental Hotel in Chicago, and a reception followed.
The bride, daughter of Amy and Peter Barrow of Wilmette, Illinois, graduated from New Trier High School and Colby College. She is a development officer for UNICEF in Chicago.
The groom, son of Marilyn and Jim Geiger of Greenwich, graduated from Brunswick School and Colby College. He is an associate at Jones Lang LaSalle in Chicago.
The couple honeymooned in St. Barths and Anguilla. They reside in Chicago.
