Ms. Moffly Knows Lunch!

Are you constantly looking for somewhere to do lunch? Someplace quick and reasonably priced, with good food and centrally located? Then this is one list you will want to keep handy.

Ms. Moffly Knows Lunch!

Happy New Week, Ladies!

If you're like me — busy-busy-busy, but you absolutely insist on taking some time for yourself — you're constantly looking for new, fun, interesting places to have lunch with a girlfriend, a co-worker (or that rare middle-of-the-day date with your hubby or boyfriend). I know, I know. So, for this week, I'll suggest a fun spot in a different town: Westport, Norwalk, New Canaan, Greenwich and Darien. Each offers good food, great service, and you won't spend that extra hour you don't have waiting to be waited on.

Have fun, eat up!

Monday:

Today's featured town is Westport, and the restaurant I'm recommending is Zest. From the famed owner of Da Pietro restaurant, Pietro Scotti and his wife have done it again! Located just off Main Street at 8 Church Lane (across from the YMCA), you can dine on traditional Italian fare like baked ziti and eggplant parm in a trendy, modern setting. Enjoy an upscale meal for under $20 per person, including a beverage, tax and tip.

Tuesday:

In New Canaan - JP's Country Cupboard - Located at 17 Elm Street, but hidden down an
alley just past the Ralph Lauren shops, is a little gem of a restaurant. Serving breakfast,
lunch and dinner, with limited seating, JP's can really pack them in. The staff is as warm
and welcoming to newcomers as they are to their regulars. The menu has a little something
for everyone including soups, salads, sandwiches and a full kids menu plus toy!

Wednesday:

In Greenwich - Meli-Melo Creperie - It's healthy, it's trendy, it's fun and
you will always walk away full. Although the name of the restaurant is
creperie and they do have fantastic crepes including many vegetarian
choices, there are a few other dishes like the gazpacho and cranberry tuna
salad that are not to be missed.

Thursday:

In Norwalk -  The Lime - You have likely driven by this small storefront at 168 Main Street dozen of times. Well, park and go in! Priding themselves on the freshest ingredients (mostly organic) and slightly creative menu, it's no wonder they're often crowded — even at off times. My favorite dish is the veggie burritos (be prepared to share or take half home - the portion is HUGE) and my husband loves the mango chicken. If they forget to serve bread, ask for it. It's worth every carb you may counting.

Friday:

In Darien - Centro Ristorante and Bar - This is the same Centro that you may know from Fairfield and Greenwich, so pick a town and bring an appetite. At Centro, a lunch salad makes for a meal, but the thin crust pizzas are worth sharing. And if you want something more hearty, order one of their homemade pasta dishes. Whether you're craving chicken, veal, or just an old fashioned burger, Centro will serve it up right.

Dear Ms. Moffly,

If you're in the Bull's Head section of Stamford, you should try Margot Cafe and Wine Bar. Located directly across from Lord & Taylor, it's a few short minutes from the Merritt and with easier free parking than downtown Stamford. The fare is yummy, affordable, fresh homestyle cooking in a comfy, neighborhood place. Try the salads and the more protein-laden crusty bread sandwiches. Chef/Owner Margot Olshan appears on Martha Stewart's PBS television show, "Everyday Food". It's a good thing!
